Overview

Role Purpose

Establishes and maintains current management processes to ensure organizational compliance with state, accreditation and agency requirements for radiologic imaging and x-ray producing equipment/devices. Monitors radiation dosimetry readings and coordinates with affected department heads to prevent recurrence and ensure adherence to principals of ALARA.

Responsibilities
  • Establishes organizational radiation management programs for compliance with radiation protection standards related to radiological producing equipment, exposure investigations, personnel dosimetry and related personal protective equipment (lead aprons).
  • Provides technical and administrative support to the Radiological Producing Equipment Committee to meet state, accreditation and agency requirements.
  • Establishes management programs to comply with 2015 accreditation standards related to operation of CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and PET equipment. Conduct non-compliance investigation, identify causal factors, recommendations to prevent recurrence and monitor for effectiveness. Monitor management processes for proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment for integrity and effectiveness.
  • Monitors and coordinates with qualified prime vendor performing radiological support services. Provide summary reports to Radiological Producing Equipment Committee including status complete and recommendations for compliance.
  • Conducts management program effectiveness audits for compliance with accreditation and agency requirements.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
